Lachlan Strain (a.k.a. The Strain, The Doctor, The Mouth, and if you're lucky, C-Strain),
arrived at Soaks in 2001 after being run out of Pally, and this week will run/fast walk out for his 200th club game for Soaks.
Lochy started his tenure at Soaks in the seldom conquering 2001 Colts side, becoming a key figure in their off-field success.
2002 saw Lochy begin the season in 3s before injuries in 1s lead to the call being put out for a "fat kid who can scrummage", meeting one of these criteria Lochy put his hand up and finished the year with a 1st Grade premiership.
Lochy was quick to capitalise on this new found success and spent the next 7 seasons in 2nd Grade, winning a premiership in 2005 and captaining another in 2009.
2010 saw a season ending knee injury bring his playing career to an abrubt halt.
Lachlan took a few seasons off to "find himself", backpacking through the foothills of Perth.
A marriage in 2014 followed by the arrival of two young children lead to Lachlan getting the itch and making a comeback to the 4th Grade paddock in 2016, bowing out in the semi-finals thanks to some poorly executed chip kicks by a portly five-eighth who shall remain nameless*.
Good luck this weekend for your 200th game Lachlan, let's hope it coincides with a win for the 3rds and that there are many more to come.
